DESCRIPTION OF OCCURRENCE:
On 05/16/17 male patient (A) and male patient (B) had a verbal altercation. Patient (A) then threw a cup of feces at patient (B). Both patients were in their 20s.
The facility conducted an internal investigation and notified the police. The resident had been on peer restriction from each other. They were in the day hall and began arguing with each other. Patient (A) was upset with patient (B) for pressing charges against him for a previous assault. Patient (A) threw a cup containing feces at patient (B) hitting him with it. Both patients went to their rooms for a voluntary time out. Patient (B) was allowed to shower. They remain on peer restriction. Patient (A) also remained on assault precautions and was placed on wing observation. Staff are escorting him to and from the bathroom to prevent him from keeping body waste to utilize in an assault on others.
