DESCRIPTION OF OCCURRENCE:
On 12/18/14 male patient (A), in his 50s, hit male patient (B), who was in his 30s.
The facility conducted an internal investigation. The facility notified police and the physician. The patients got into a verbal altercation and patient (A) repeatedly hit patient (B) in the head. Staff intervened and escorted patient (B) to the day hall. Patient (A) was escorted to the seclusion room. Patient (B) was assessed and had a superficial laceration to his right temple area.
